Teacher Appreciation Week, a FREEBIE & a GIVEAWAY!

Amy and I had an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week, and I hope you did, too! Our families, principals, and PTA spoiled us rotten! I had to tell myself that this was probably not the week to be worrying about getting myself swimsuit ready, haha :)

Yesterday we made our Mother's Day gifts! We read The Important Book, and the kids wrote the important thing about their moms following the format of the book. They did a great job! {We modified our writing paper a bit from my Mother's Day Gift Pack}

We have started our balloon pop countdown in our class, and it is really helping with behavior! Each day we pop a balloon and there is a different activity or treat. Our kids don't want to miss out!

This past week we started doing book studies. We split our kids into three groups, based on ability. The three books we read were Chocolate Fever, Amber Brown is Not a Crayon, and The Sandwich That Max Made.

The kids REALLY enjoyed reading these different books! They did comprehension quizzes, worked on cause/effect, fact/opinion, nouns/verbs/adjectives, and much more! They worked on all the same skills, but all of their practice went along with their books.

TGIF! Amber Brown is Not a Crayon Novel Study GIVEAWAY!

TGIF friends! Moon Day was a big hit with our kiddos today! I will be posting about that and our space unit here in a couple of days! It's been a lot of fun so far :) It is definitely a high interest unit! I can't wait to share all we've done!

This is going to be quick, because the hubs and I are going out to dinner at our favorite steak house tonight to celebrate an early Valentine's Day/Hubs' birthday {he's a Valentine's baby!} I just wanted to let you all know that I just uploaded my newest product onto TpT and I am really excited about it! {Powerpoint really IS a million times better! Wish I had learned this earlier :)} We are going to be doing some novel studies coming up soon, and Amy and I had no resources for Amber Brown is Not a Crayon by Paula Danziger. I LOVE this book. If you haven't read it to your class, you must! It's a great story about friendship!
