New stuff for my art room!

I am not ready for summer to be over by any means, but y'all, I am just DYING to get into my new art room to organize and decorate! It is always fun to have a blank slate, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to just focus on ONE subject!

This summer I have really spent a lot of time finding great art lessons and units. I really have no curriculum map to follow, I just need to hit the required skills. So really I have a TON of freedom! Talk about exciting and overwhelming all at once! There are soooo many amazing ideas out there, that I almost don't even know where to begin. I am looking forward to getting in touch with some of the art teachers in our district to see how their year looks at a glance.

Besides all of my Pinteresting, I have made a couple of things for the classroom that I am just loving. You will probably be able to tell that the second grade teacher in me had a lot of influence! I hope the regular ed teachers appreciate it :)

I just love the way my art alphabet turned out! It will give my kids some extra exposure to some art vocabulary, and I hope it will help the littles if we are doing some writing about our artwork.

Aren't these little artists by Educlips just the CUTEST?! They were perfect for these posters! I can't decide if I will have these guys hanging up all year, or use them as we study different artists. I am leaning toward having an artist board that is displayed all year because they are just too dang cute not to!

And here are some clock hands. I figured it would be an easy way to reinforce some telling time with our kiddos. And the second grade teacher in me made me do it :)

Well I had Mia help me choose a winner for their pick of my new literacy centers! I scrolled the screen up and down and she picked a winner by touching the screen! Super scientific, I know :) Congrats to Michele B.! I will be emailing your Apple Literacy Centers to you :) Good luck on your first year in second grade! You will love it!
